What Acne Says About Your Health

Submitted by: Albert Coley

Acne does not simply appear because it chooses to do so. There are things that could trigger an acne breakout in your body. But why bother? That is because first, it could be a sign that something serious is happening within your body and second, knowing what triggers your acne could help you from preventing acne for good.

These triggers vary, depending on your lifestyle, age, and even on your gender. So, here are some of the things that your body could be telling you when you have acne:

1.You need to take a vacation. Strange as it may seem, but sometimes acne is your body s way of telling you to relax and take a breather. That s because stress could be a major trigger of acne in your body, regardless of whether you re a man or a woman. So, take a look at your schedule. Are you doing too many overtimes? When was the last time you had a vacation? Lower your stress level and your acne could go down with it.

2.You re experiencing a hormonal imbalance. This is the case with acne in women. If you re a woman in your 20s or older, don t be surprised that acne still bothers you even if you re no longer a teenager. That s because hormonal imbalances could cause acne breakouts on your skin. It could be brought about by your monthly period, or when you re expecting. In the first case, taking in pills as prescribed by your doctor could help get rid of your acne. If you re expecting, don t worry because it s just a stage you have to go through. Your acne problems will disappear once you give birth to your baby.

3.You need to eat healthier. Poor diet could also trigger your acne. Let s put some science into this. If you re having a typical diet that s full of refined carbohydrates and sugar, then, you ll likely have acne. Why is that? These foods cause a surge in insulin, which in turn, produces excessive amounts of testosterone. And with high levels of testosterone, your body will produce excess sebum. The sebum, then, will clog your pores and cause acne.

4.You need to practice proper hygiene. Believe it or not, something as simple as washing your face with tap water twice a day can spell the difference between a life with and without acne. That s right. So, you don t even really need to spend all your money on expensive soaps, and other forms of facial wash that promise to get rid of your acne if you use them often enough. Just wash your face regularly. It will be enough to deal with the excess oils and dirt that may be clogging your pores.

So, you see, your acne problem can say a lot about you and your health. Listen to your body more and you ll be surprised about how easy it is to get rid of acne from your body.
